Chief Justice Chancellor Emad Saleem Sa’ad inaugurated Dura Magistrate Courthouse Funded by European Union with participation from Prime Minister Dr. Rami Al Hamdallah, Hebron Governor Jibrin Albakri, EU Representative Mr. Ralf Tarraf, Acting Attorney General Akram alkhateeb, Mayor of Dura Ahmad Salhoub, and high-level representatives from governmental institutions, security sector, police and donors.
In his speech, Chancellor Sa’ad assured that establishing new courthouses is among of the council strategic goals and came in the frame of developing infrastructure of courts and providing suitable litigation environment appropriate for the use of litigators.
His Excellency thanked President of Palestine Mr. Mahmoud Abbas for his continuous support and Prime Minister Dr. Al Hamdallah for his cooperation and commitment to achieve independence of judiciary, H.E also thanked European Union for their support and fellow up during all phases of the project.
His Excellency mentioned that the total amount of EU fund was around 4 million euro, and the project was built on 5663 square meters which will provide the current and future needs for the court and public prosecution. It is worth noting that the heirs of late Yunous Ibryush donated the land in cooperation with Dura Municipality, Ministry of Finance, Hebron Governorate and Musicality, and funded by EU.
