Chief Justice and Minister of Transportation Discuss Ways of Joint Cooperation

Chief Justice Chief of Supreme court chancellor Issa Abu Sharar and Minister of Transportation Assem Salem discussed topics related to digital linking between High Judicial Council and the ministry specifically cases of traffic violations.

Chancellor Abu Sharar expressed HJC readiness to provide all human and logistic resources to consider cases of traffic violations by specialized judge at the directorates of traffic department in the central governorates. This aims to facilitate citizens’ reviews without heading to courts, in addition to the possibility of secondment of number of notary public at the central traffic department to ratify the notarial bonds which are connected to the work of Ministry of Transportation Directorates.

Chief Justice assured that number of complaints on overcrowding in courthouses is mainly due to citizens’ reviews for their traffic violations tickets especially in the central governorates.   

For his part, Minister of transportation also assured the ministry readiness to handling with all needs that facilitate the work of the specialized judge and the notary public as well.

Both parties agreed on forming a committee comprising all related parties to come up with recommendations to amend Traffic Law and to encourage citizens to pay the minimal fine of traffic violation’s tickets without heading to courts. They also agreed on developing ways of digital linking between High Judicial Council and the Ministry of Transportation to reduce backlog of traffic violations cases.
