On Feb 23, 2015 - High Judicial Council held a workshop with participation from Chief Justice Ali Muhana, Deputy Attorney General Dr. Ahmed Barrak, assistant Chief of Palestinian Police for criminal investigation Brigadier General Abdel Jabber Burqan, court presidents, chief prosecutors, police district commanders and participants from EUPOLCOPPS.
The aim of the workshop was to enhance the deterrent mechanism for judicial procedures and decisions in narcotics crimes and promoting integration among law enforcement agencies. In his opining speech, Chief Justice Ali Muhana thanked the participants for their attendance and underlined the fundamental importance of coordinated work between the three pillars and the need for good cooperation.
The workshop ended with the following outcomes: First, formation of a committee in every governorate to meet periodically and to discuss pending issues and the integration between law enforcement agencies then to be transferred up to a senior level committee. Second, suggesting a technical committee to prepare recommendations and reports for decision makers in law enforcement authorities.
It is worth noting that EUPOLCOPPS funded the workshop as part of their continuous efforts to support High Judicial Council.
