High Judicial Council Holds Training on "Child Justice"

On Aug 27, 2015 - High Judicial Council started training on Palestinian child rights and the mechanism for dealing with gender and juvenile cases in cooperation with Palestinian Judicial Institute and Sawasya Program funded by UNDP.

The training will last for four days which aims at upgrading awareness over HJC employees about gender and juvenile cases.

Head of Palestinian Judicial Institute Judge Thoraya Wazer assured the importance of spreading the program over all courts employees and she emphasized the necessity of the continuous implementation.

Sawasya Program Technical Specialist Mr. Stacy Weld-Blundell indicated the main purpose of the program which is to institutionalize gender and child justice in justice sector institutions; he added that it is one of the joint activities with HJC and PJI.

Gender and Juvenile Justice Expert Mrs. Dana delivered the training by presenting several topics: the Palestinian perspective for values and culture related to children's rights, dealing with women and children victims being abused, and the role of HJC in dealing with gender and juvenile cases.
