Chief Justice Chancellor Issa Abu Sharar met with the delegation from "Sawasya 2" Program chaired by Director D. Christopher Decker to discuss cooperation at the time when Judicial Authority is conducting two paths concurrently; knowing that the first path deals with the continuation and effects of Coronavirus "COVID 19" pandemic and the second deals with resumption of judicial reform.
The meeting aimed at informing the delegation with updates in judiciary and pandemic effects in Palestine, in addition to confirm HJC role to remain public rights and freedoms during state of emergency. Chief Justice emphasized that the judicial reform plan will be resumed its work to overcome the shortage in judges' number and appoint new judges in regular courts not to mention the endorsement of new legislations that facilities judicial reform and backlog cases.
Chancellor Abu Sharar assured that Transitional High Judicial Council pays attention to develop PJI performance to be able to provide Judicial Authority with qualified judges and improve judges' abilities especially the newly appointed judges.
For his part, D. Decker announced that "Sawasya 2 "Program has allocated 300 thousand dollar for judges' training program as a response to the needs of Transitional High Judicial Council; he also assured convergence of both parties views in respect to the development of PJI performance.
