On Dec4, 2016- Acting Chief Justice Chancellor Emad Saleem Sa’ad met with delegation from The International Legal Foundation (ILF) represented by Deputy Program Director Holly Hobart and Attorney Neal Ghannam.
The meeting came as a follow up meeting with High Judicial Council and to discuss legal aid provided by the foundation to the needy litigators who can't afford hiring a lawyer. Regarding this issue, HJC policy is to improve public services and to guarantee access to justice for all Palestinian citizens.
ILF delegation gave a presentation on ILF activities among them is the holding a conference on the importance of legal aid and international systems related to criminal cases, costs and file management and ways of representing clients in courts.
For his part, H.E. Sa’ad assured the continuation of coordination between both parties, indicating to the necessary of providing HJC with list of lawyers who work with ILF and plead freely in Palestinian courts.
It is worth noting that both parties agreed to hold regular meetings every three months to follow up cooperation.
