On Dec 7, 2016 – Delegation from Colombian Constitutional Court payed a visit to High Judicial Council chaired by Head of Court Maria Victoria Cili Kori and three member judges in order to explore the Palestinian judicial model.
His Excellency Chancellor Sa’ad received and welcomed the delegation accompanied by Head of Palestinian Constitutional Court Chancellor Muhammed Al-Haj Qasim, Judge Assad Mubarak, Judge Hatim Abbas and Supreme Court Judge Ahmad Al-Mughni.
Chancellor Sa’ad appreciated their visit and assured the importance of exchanging knowledge and experience between both countries which will enhance the judiciary system in Palestine. His Excellency also informed the delegation about the current situation of Palestinian judiciary indicating that justice is a fundamental requirement considering the existing difficult circumstances in Palestine.
The delegation delivered a brief presentation on Colombian Judiciary and its relations to state authorities, the role of Constitutional Court, ways of appointments for its members, differences between Palestinian and Colombian courts. They also assured that constitution is the most peaceful tool that elevate state's institutions and guarantee citizens' rights and the separation of state authorities.
