High Judicial Council and National Bank Open Two Branches at Ramallah and Nablus Courts

On May 11, 2016 - Chief Justice Chancellor Sami Sarsour and the Chairman of National Bank Mr. Talal Nasereddin opened two branches of National Bank at Ramallah and Nablus Courts.

The opening came as a pursuant for the terms of agreement that has been signed in order to facilitate financial services for courts registration departments.

After the opening ceremony, a press conference has been held at Movenpik Hotel and attended by Ramallah- AlBireh Governor Dr. Laila Ghannam, President of State Audit and Administrative Bureau Judge Ead Tayem, Bank Audit Director at Monetary Authority Mr. Mustafa Abu-Salah with the presence of Chairman of Palestinian Bar Association Hussein Shabaneh, Supreme Court judges, courts' presidents and General Director of Administrative and Financial Affairs Mohamad Sharakeh.

Chancellor Sami Sarsour indicated that relationship between HJC and the National Bank aims to achieve all means that help Palestinian citizens to access justice by easiest ways and provide safety and security for them through impartial and independence judiciary.

H.E mentioned that during the last year after signing the agreement, all department's accounts and checks have been done in accordance to legal and professional procedures, he also indicated that the agreement executed by efforts has been done by a committee constitutes State Audit and Administrative Bureau and Ministry of Finance.

For his part, Mr. Nasereddin announced that the bank intends to open another branch at Hebron Courts and gradually increase numbers of branches in other courts; meanwhile he emphasized the importance of strategic relationship between HJC and TNB and other private sector institutions.

Judge Ead Tayem clarified that the role of the State Audit and Administrative Bureau is to monitor procedures on using public funds indicating that Ministry of Finance is the only part who is responsible for public funds' accounts.

Mr. Abu-Salah appreciated the efforts done by both parties; hoping prosperity to TNB in providing and facilitating public services for citizens.

In her speech, Dr. Laila Ghannam passed President Abbas congratulations for both parties and she appreciated the role of Palestinian judiciary in achieving fair and impartial judiciary.
