Aims at establishing the connections with the mass media, the civil society institutions and the general public.

Establishing the Media and Public Relation Department at the HJC

   The Honorable Chief Justice Issa Abu Sharar , Head of the High Court, announced about the decision of the HJC which requires the establishment of the Media and Public Relation Department inside the HJC . The purpose of such department is to reinforce HJC's relationship with the Mass Media, the civil society institutions, the governmental bodies that have a relation with the Judiciary Authority, and to raise the public awareness about the importance of judiciary and its role in achieving the justice.  

 In accordance with the Honorable Chief Justice's announcement, Mr. Majed A'rouri, the media expert and human rights specialist, has been authorized with the task as the HJC's public information spokesperson. He is entitled with the task of building and developing this unit and establishing its links with the mass media and the civil society institutions so that the citizens can obtain the necessary information which may reinforce their trust in the Judicatory Authority, as being considered the first address of justice , the human  rights protector and guarantor of the freedoms.

According to the its work plan which lasts until the end of this year, the unit will organize media awareness campaigns , qualify a team of the working journalists in the local mass media to work as special correspondents for covering the courts' news , provide the members of such team, and those who have special interests in journalism from the HJC 's staff, with cards that facilitate their work during the process of covering the courts and the Judiciary Authority's news, knowingly that the courts are naturally open for public ,especially the media persons.  

With the aim of introducing the HJC 's achievements , the unit will embark on , beginning from the current month, preparing and circulating a monthly bulletin , assisting also in updating the HJC's website page, and carrying out different awareness activities for schools' students, within the cooperation with the ministry of education.

At the level of the civil society institutions, setting up a memorandum between the HJC and the civil society institutions will be within the priorities of this unit. Such memorandum will surely explain the rules and mechanisms through which there will be a joint work that guarantees the reinforcement of the citizen's trust in the judiciary authority and supports its independence.
