On Jan 19, 2017 – Chief Justice Chancellor Emad Saleem Sa’ad met with delegation from "Enhancing Palestinian Justice" Project represented by Acting Head of USAID Jonathan Kamin to discuss following up current projects, planning future projects that target providing environment suitable for litigation and facilitates access to justice.
During the meeting, the attendance discussed the roles of Palestinian Judicial Institute in preparing training courses for judges, cooperation between civil judiciary and Shariah judiciary (Family Courts), and the possibility of supporting other training courses for judges.
His Excellency Chancellor Sa’ad thanked USAID and "Enhancing Palestinian Justice" Project for their continuous support to justice sector in Palestine, and added that among the needs of HJC: the expansion of Execution Department at Nablus Court, the expansion of Notary Public Department at Ramallah Court, increase the number of courts' personnel. Chancellor Sa’ad also clarified the role of HJC in transferring all Shariah files form civil courts to Shariah courts and holding trainings for Shariah judges regarding the same issue, in addition to archiving files of Shariah courts in cooperation with Information technology Department at HJC.
