Deputy Chief Justice Opens Workshop on Gender and Juvenile Justice

On Aug 27, 2017 – Deputy Chief Justice Judge Hisham Hatu opened workshop on gender and juvenile justice targeted judges from Appeals Court in the presence of the Jordanian expert Dr. Nasser Alsalamat, organized by Palestinian Judicial institute and supported by SAWASYA Program.

Judge Hatu assured the importance of utilizing the Jordanian experience in gender and juvenile field; emphasizing the importance of adapting best practices and international standards relating to child protection and juvenile cases in Palestinian courts. It is worth noting that the Palestinian Child Law in its articles indicates to the International Convention on the Rights of Child.   

For his part, Dr. Nasser Alsalamat indicated that Law No. 4, 2016 on juvenile protection meets best practices of child mentioning that the workshop will discuss mechanisms of interpretation and implementation of law texts in a way that achieves justice for this sector of society.
